As percussionists we are required to play a lot of instruments, from mallets (marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel) to drums of all shapes and sizes (snare drum, timpani, drum set), as well as many accessory instruments (tambourine, triangle, cymbals, ect.). I aim to teach students how to perform confidently behind any instrument in any musical setting!

FAQs

  • It all starts with understanding your goals and objectives, whether you are a beginner seeking guidance or preparing for an audition. As a percussion instructor with experience in teaching beginners and comprehending my students' desires, our lessons will begin with a personalized meeting where we discuss what you wish to achieve from the lessons. Based on your specific needs, I focus on developing a strong foundation of technique and musical understanding through methods inspired by early percussion pedagogy ideas. Through integrating traditional teachings with contemporary approaches, including rudiments, rhythm exercises, and exposure to diverse musical genres, our tailored lessons aim to nurture creativity and musicality while helping you meet your goals as either a new student or someone looking to enhance existing skills for performance purposes.

I feel a commitment towards fostering the next generation of percussionists and am proud to offer this scholarship to help make this dream possible. If the cost of lessons is a limiting factor for you, apply now and see if you qualify.

  • Private music lesson schedules can be tailored to best fit the students' individual needs. For example, you can take weekly lessons of different lengths such as 30 minutes, or 1 hour. Additionally, you can opt for bi-weekly or monthly lessons. For students who need more flexibility, lessons can be scheduled on a case-by-case basis. This allows for you to book lessons around your own schedule. Ultimately, the lesson schedule is tailored to the student to ensure maximum success.
